Graduate Mentorship Program – Key FAQs

About the Program

Taught by Sharon Weizenbaum, the Graduate Mentorship Program (GMP) is a multi-year, in-depth clinical training in classical East Asian medicine grounded in the Huángdì Nèijīng and Zhāng Zhòngjǐng’s Shānghán Zábìng Lùn. It emphasizes physiology, diagnosis, and herbal formulas through the unifying framework of Great Turning.

The program is designed for licensed practitioners, advanced students, and clinicians who want greater diagnostic clarity, confidence with formulas, and a coherent framework for complex cases.

Structure & Timeline

The program spans approximately 2½ years, with summers off. It consists of 8 courses, each containing 6 modules.

Classes meet biweekly on Fridays, 9:30 am–12:30 pm EST. All sessions are recorded.

Yes. All classes, Q&A sessions and case reviews are recorded and posted.

  • Student Track: Fully flexible, no requirements or deadlines
  • Certification Track: Structured participation with assignments, case review, and final exam

You do not need to decide right away. You can complete assignments, discussions, quizzes, and case work as you go and decide whether to pursue certification just before the final exam. If you are keeping up with the coursework, choosing certification is usually a small additional step. Even if you ultimately decide not to take the exam, completing assignments along the way offers significant learning benefits.
